April 14th, 2009

Leasing a car for personal use is becoming quite popular these days. It actually saves an individual from taking the hassle of owning a particular car, maintaining it for it estimated life cycle and then trying to get rid of it at a value which they perceive to be an ideal resale value of their car. There might be situations or circumstances that the price that an individual may be getting for selling their car would be lower than what they would have expected or assumed. There is always this risk factor which is involved when it comes to dealing for your own car.

Apart from this, running a self purchased car tends to work out to be slightly costly affair. The individual is required to put in the lump sum money in the beginning, to purchase the car o his choice. The kind of budget or monetary leeway may also decide which car to buy, something which might not be the first choice for the buyer. Secondly, the users would have to take care of the maintenance and other running expenses of their car. They would then be able to claim the depreciation benefits depending upon the estimated running life of the car.

This is where the car leasing or contract hire facility comes in. The benefits of the car leasing or contract hire services is that an individual can enjoy driving the car of his or her own choice at a much cheaper price without actually owning the car. The fundamentals of contract hiring are very easy and simple, wherein a user is required to use a particular car up to a specific residual value in a particular number of years. The monthly charges would include things like road tax and maintenance as well. Apart from this the users are also entitled to buyer’s volume discounts and depreciation, which they can charge from the very first day. Having a closer look at the entire scenario, buyers realize that leasing or contract hiring a car works out to be a much cheaper option, covering most of their risks and giving them an option of choosing a car of their choice without too heavy initial inputs costs.

Leasing or contract hiring of use cars is also a very novel and cost effective way of owning a car of your choice. Opting for a used car, gives an opportunity to the users to opt for a higher segment, costly and better car in their specified budget. Brand new cars work out to be expensive and the users might not be able to choose a car of his choice because of budgetary constraints. With the option of a used car, users do not have to worry about these things. They can actually go ahead and choose a car which is one notch above in the segment that they would actually have gone while opting for a brand new car.

Apart from this leasing or contract hiring of used cars also works out to be quite cost effective for users, ideal for budget or first time users. the users do not have to worry about selling the cars for a decent amount at the end of their estimated life with the car leasing or contract hiring, they can simply return the car and get in a new one without having to go through the hassles of reselling and purchasing it. Another advantage that the used car leasing or contract hiring option provides is that, the users most often than not are able to find a better conditioned vehicle at a much lower price.

The concept of electricity as a fuel for vehicles has been one of the most interesting ideas since a long time. It gained high significance following the fluctuating petrol and diesel prices and increasing awareness about environment among the people. The environmentalists have been vehemently supporting electricity as an alternative fuel. Thus, electric vehicles in general and electric cars in particular are popular throughout the world. Consequently, many electric vehicles have been manufactured and are being widely used across the world.

Now Is The Best Time To Lease A New Car

Car dealers are often portrayed as predators just waiting for an unsuspecting customer to come along. This is because many people believe that they are always on the prowl for unsuspecting buyers that are not very knowledgeable about cars. This can be unfair because we can argue that there are car dealers out there who would not cheat just to get an extra profit.

How do you tell the difference?

To avoid becoming a victim of sneaky car dealers, look at the following auto financing scams.

Yoyo scam

You will be allowed by the dealer to bring the car home as soon as possible. The dealer will take care of the financing, a few days later he will contact you again and tell you that there was a problem with your financing plan. He will tell you to set up a new financing scheme through him which, of course, will be at a higher cost and this will also entail a very high profit on the dealer’s part.

Be wary of this trick and avoid it at all costs if you detect it. If you have a bad credit standing, don’t have your financing done by the dealer and make arrangements for your own financing. If you ever do avail of the dealer’s financing, you should never drive the car back to your home immediately. Wait for at least 24 hours just to make sure that the processing of your financing scheme has been completed already. By allowing 1 whole day to pass by, you are assured that the dealer cannot use this scam on you.

Window etching trick

Window etching is a very common scam. What the dealer will do is to offer to etch the VIN number of your car onto the window of the car for a price. Basically, the price ranges from as low as $300 to as high as $1,000. Some buyers think that they did a good job by being able to talk down the price to a few hundred dollars, but unfortunately for them, a few hundred dollars is still a good amount of money. The best way to avoid this kind of scam is for you to buy an etching kit that you can do on your own. This is available in most auto shops and costs around $20. See how much they profit from you!

Preparation fees

For preparing your car, the dealer will often add an additional preparation fee to your bill. Just to conduct a test drive, replace fuses, or take the car’s plastic cover off will have your bill increasing by at least $500! If you visit other shops, you can get the information that these add on costs are already included in the MSRP as set by the manufacturer. Some dealers automatically add it to the buyer’s order to make it look mandatory. To take care of this scam, you can ask the dealer to classify it as credit (it should be identical to the amount of the preparation fee) on the following line. If the dealer does not agree to this, you can just simply walk away from the dealership.

Market adjustment

The dealer will convince you that the vehicle you want is selling like hot cakes and very popular. In order to sell you the vehicle, they will do some “market adjustments” amounting to a few thousand dollars. This is usually indicated by a tag near the MSRP tag set by the manufacturer. Even if the car you want is very popular and is very much in demand, if it is in stock you should not be tempted because getting a “popular” car is not worth it if you have to pay a few thousand dollars more. You should never pay more than the MSRP set by the manufacturers. If you do, then you are allowing others to take advantage of you.

Warranty extension

Although this type of scam is old already, it is still being used and there are many who fall for this trick. What happens in this kind of scam is that when you make a loan for the car, the dealer will tell you that you are required to purchase an extended warranty because it is one of the conditions of the bank. There is a simple way of avoiding this scam. Ask the dealer to specify clearly in writing that the extended warranty is required for the loan to be approved. The dealer will most probably find a way to have it excluded. If he persists in including the extended warranty, do not do business with this guy and go to other dealerships.

These are some of the most common auto financing scams that are utilized by some car dealers. Always keep these in mind if you are going to buy a car. If you or a friend were treated fairly by a dealer in the past, consider using the same dealership again. It’s a good indication that they do care about their customers and aren’t just looking for a “fast buck.”

Think very carefully and do not buy on impulse. Good luck to you and go get that car!

Now Is The Best Time To Lease A New Car

Posted in New Car  by admin
April 14th, 2009

Are you thinking of buying a car but hesitant to approach your local car dealer because you are not sure about the processes of buying a car as well as wary of possible dealership scams? Do you feel that your knowledge about cars and getting great deals is not good enough and you want to learn more about this matter? Then reading these tips will enhance your understanding about dealership scams.

The car dealer and his trade

To have a proper understanding of car dealership scams, you must first have an idea of the car dealers themselves and how they go about their trade selling cars. First of all, the car dealer will not give you a price quotation as much as he possibly can. This is because the tendency of the buyer would be to go to another dealer and the other one will probably offer a lower price thus, the first dealer loses the buyer to the second dealer. To increase their chances of getting you to buy their car, they will try to make you commit to them before they give you the final selling price. On your part, you can do two things: maneuver the dealer into telling you the price quotation or negotiate the terms of the deal with them. If you decided to negotiate with the dealer then be always on the lookout for the following tricks:

Low balling

This is one of the tricks most commonly done by dealers. They will try to convince the buyer that they can provide the lowest possible price for the car thereby prompting the buyer to start negotiations with the dealer. The salesman will probably tell you that you can get the car that you want for a lesser amount but when you are about to enter negotiations, it turns out that you were not promised a lower price after all. It is just an empty promise.

Best price matching

When you tell the dealer that you will try to look around and check other car dealerships, the salesman will ask you to comeback when you get the best possible price and he will offer to match it. By this time, you will probably be too tired and sick of looking around. Chances are that you will take their offer.

Trade in scam

When you have already bought the car, the salesman will try to contact you before your new car is delivered and tell you that the initial pricing of the car was $500 lower and would like to collect the balance from you. If you fall for this, he will get an extra $500 at your expense.

Spraying

What the dealer will do is to pursue you relentlessly until you give up and buy the car. On the other hand, if you decided to buy from another dealer, he will call you and tell you that he could have given you a lower price thus making you upset. To avoid this, you should not hand out your contact number. Some even give wrong contact numbers just to evade very irritating car dealers.

Puppy dog trick

The dealer will allow you to take the car for an overnight or for a whole day, his aim is for you to fall for the car and buy it.

Immediate sale

The dealer will give you a very attractive price but he will also make you believe that this deal can only be made until the end of the day. This will cause you to think too much and in the end, make the mistake of buying the car without checking what other car dealers have to offer.

Extra accessories

The dealer will offer to give you extras like: car mats, window tinting, and other accessories. This aims to stop you from asking for a lower price because of the perceived “extras” that you will be receiving from the dealer. It will slow down the price negotiations and divert your attention away from the price.

All of us want the best deal available and we abhor the notion that someone will take advantage of us through modis operandi like car dealership scams. So before going to the local car dealer, you better have a good idea of what he will be talking about. As they say, only a fool will go to battle unprepared and with no weapons. Your weapon will be knowledge, always remember that.

Now Is The Best Time To Lease A New Car

April 14th, 2009

Before purchasing a dream car, try to assess if the budget can really afford it. Questions like, how will it be paid, who will be helping to pay for it, what is the price limit of the car to be bought, and how long will it take to pay off the car? These should be considered even while planning to buy the car. The trend nowadays is that people buy the cars by cashing out the down payment, and the balance will be paid by installment. Others are just lucky enough to have saved the right amount of money that they are able to cash out the total cost of the car, which, by the way, seldom happens now. Never set aside the possibility of paying thousands of dollars when buying from a dealer or a specific car company, where in the end, charges you more for the interest which takes even years to pay.

Once you have found a way to finance the car you are eyeing on, then it’s time to start shopping around. There are credit unions and even local banks that are willing to loan the needed amount to purchase the car with an Annual Percentage Rate of only 1.9 per cent. However, this may turn out to be a catch, since this will only be happening on the first year. Without prior notice, these interest rates can increase which is a total inconvenience for those with just a fix income every year.

It is a big plus if a buyer is a member of a credit union. Being a member could save you from the trouble of spending a whole day in a lender’s office because the processing of the loan could only take just a few minutes after filling out the necessary papers for the request. In a credit union, fifteen to twenty minutes is all that is needed to do the application. They could even loan even up to $25,000.00 within just an hour after signing the papers.

It will be very helpful when a research is made prior to making that loan for a car. Believe it or not, car dealers are really digging out most of the penny in a buyer’s pocket by issuing interest that is sometimes unreasonable. There are two things needed to consider when thinking of financing a new car:

First, what’s the price willing to be spent by a buyer? More often than not, other people would rather ask themselves the question: How much of the car price do they intend to buy instead? They will be willing if the know they can afford their choice. Consider monthly regular expenditures. The monthly payment for the new car should not get in the way of paying the fixed monthly dues in the household. If in case it does, by merely doing a math, then just consider a second hand car. Just make sure that all is checked and examined to avoid hassle in the future.

Second, is it really important to change cars every two to four years? Consider cars offered on a lease, if so. Other dealers and car companies offer the leasing of a car for that amount of time, which you can return but no money will be refunded. However, there is an allotted amount of distance or mileage that should be covered during those years of lease, but this is negotiable. On the other hand, if a buyer is not interested in changing cars, it’s best not to opt for the cars for lease.

It is safest to get a loan from a credit union or a financial institution instead of a local car salesman; they would definitely try to reach even a buyer’s bottom dollar. Getting information from someone whom can be trusted and expert about financing a car, for they will be able to give you tips at your own interest. Financing either a new or a second hand car is a lot of sweat, but the determination to get the best car at the best price can be considered a success.

This should be a win, win situation for anyone. After all it’s your money that is at stake here. Do your research and it can be a beneficial decision on your part.

Now Is The Best Time To Lease A New Car

Posted in New Car  by admin
April 14th, 2009

Purchasing a used car can be a difficult process. There are so many options, each with a multitude of features. It’s hard to know which one is the best.

In this article I will cover the top autos to purchase when not buying new. I buy and sell used vehicles so selecting the right auto is key for me and my business. I have my preferred list which I will share with you.

When purchasing I ignore certain things that may make a few of you upset. I do not look at the country where the car was manufactured. I live in the United States and love living here but unfortunately I cannot just pick American made vehicles. Sure we have some great autos in the USA but at this moment in time, my top choice is made in Japan.

Toyota Camry:

This is my best used car, my top choice. It is very dependable, fuel efficient and has a comfortable interior. It is readily available because it has been the best selling new auto in the United States for nine of the last 10 years. it handles great and gives you ample storage in the trunk. The Camry looks like a higher end vehicle with the heart of a work horse. You can rest assured on the dependability of the vehicle and also on it’s resale value. The Toyota Camry gives you a mid-sized vehicle with the fuel efficiency of a more compact one.

Honda Civic:

In today’s world fuel efficiency is something that has to be considered. The Honda Civic provides plenty of efficiency as a compact vehicle. The Civic was redesigned in 2001, reintroduced in it;s hybrid mode in 2003 and then redesigned again in 2006. Great improvements were made with each redesign of the vehicle. The exterior looks sharper and the handling has improved dramatically from the 1990’s models.

Honda Accord:

Another Honda! The Accord is another great mid-sized vehicle to consider. It is not as fuel efficient as the Camry but it has a more sporty feel when driving for those who prefer a faster more agile vehicle. Improvements were made to this model in 2003, making it a smoother ride, less noisy and as stated above more agile. This car is know for its reliability and dependability.

Nissan Altima:

The Japanese theme continues. Fourth place was a toss up between the Altima and Corolla. I prefer mid-sized vehicles but if you prefer compact sedans then you may want to go with a Corolla. I absolutely love the Nissan Altima. When it was first introduced it was a compact car which now has evolved into a mid-sized sedan. You can get this car in a 4 or 5 cylinder model with a 2.5 or 3.5 engine. You can count on this cars reliability; my previous Altima had 140,000 miles and drove like new. The inside is comfortable and spacious especially when purchasing models 2003 or higher.

Now Is The Best Time To Lease A New Car

Getting ready to purchase a used car? We are going to cover a few things to avoid before purchasing and also vehicles to stay away from.

As with anything you purchase, experiences with likes and dislikes vary. But the cars listed within this article have a history of bad performance. The study which was done by Consumer Reports reviewed vehicles from 1999 to 2008 and rated the vehicles on performance and dependability.

First things first, when purchasing a vehicle which isn’t new, common sense has to come into play. If you hear funny sounds coming from the engine, maybe this might not be the auto for you. I know it sounds obvious but people are taking for fools every day at dealer lots throughout the United States.

Do not be fooled by looks, a vehicle may look great on the outside but the engine is what matters most. Sometimes people fall in love with the exterior and interiors of a vehicle and completely ignore the meat and potatoes of the auto which is the engine. As a kid I fell for that by purchasing a sporty suped up Z-24 (better known as a Chevy Cavalier), it looked great. The paint was perfect, nice rims and wheels, spoiler kit and awesome stereo system plus a nice interior with a custom steering wheel. I had to have this car, I was a teenager with limited cash and this car had what I wanted; great looks and it was priced right! Guess what? I ended up paying for a lot for mechanical work, including a new engine . It was a horrible experience, on the other hand I owned an old Monte Carlo which ran great but was brown and rusting. I remember always driving alone cause the car was so ugly my friends rather walk to school then catch a ride with me. Luckily you can find a vehicle in-between my Z-24 and my old Monte Carlo, good looks and a great engine.

Stay away from vehicles with salvage titles, if the insurance company decided it was not worth fixing then you should not find the vehicle worth buying. When I am purchasing a vehicle for resale from a private owner or lot I always look at the ground to check for oil leaks, if there is a puddle or stain where the auto is usually parked then you should move on to the next choice. These are just a few of things to look for, like is aid previously common sense should kick when you are viewing, inspecting and test driving the vehicle. If the seller is quick to drop the price after you pointed something out, that means he realizes you are onto a serious issue with the vehicle which can prevent the sale. Don’t let he or she sweet talk you, go with your gut.

They must pay the money in installments of 60 or 72 months. The interest rate is very high for this EMI is the owner must pay heavy amount of advance payments.

Since we are paying heavy amount for the car then it is our duty to protect them as long as possible. The first problem that the car suffers is the problem of rust. Either you have to prevent rust or use of products to remove rust from the car.

If you say in medical terms, then you can say that rust is like cancer of the car. It becomes worse when starts slowly and spreads throughout the body. The body of the car is made of sheet metal, and we all know that metals are likely to get rusty. Rust is seen in areas such as extreme weather, moisture or road side salt used in winter.

There are several ways to have treatment against rust and can be cured if you take care. Although the vehicle is covered with thin layer of metal primer paint, but it is not enough. Roadside dirt, debris or even hail is enough to damage the thin layer. Even the small scratch on the body will do the naked body of the environment. Then, moisture, salt air in contact with the bare metal of the body. The oxidation of the metal will start. This chemical reaction on the metal is known as rust. In Chemistry rust is nothing less than the simple loss of electrons for which the metal is low which contributes to the rust.

It is always recommended that you should clean and wax the car every two weeks. Observe parts of the body of the car where rust can begin. Look for scratches; nicks and dings naked caused some in the body of the paint. Take special care for this part so that rust cannot be involved in this field. Cover these naked parts and seal them so that moisture cannot come into contact with the metal body. Retouching paint is best suited to this situation. Choosing the best touches of paint that matches the color of your car and use it on the affected area. These can act as an effective treatment for rust in the car. As first aid, you can also use nail polish. In a small box of toothpicks scratch is always a better option than included brush for the touch of paint.

The most important thing is for rust treatments always go to a car dealership. How they will provide treatment of the car rust is not comparable to how you will deal with the rust of the car at home. Their treatment will always be better. They can give you the best results with the color of the car color. So the exact paint again to give the car a new look.
